Helen & Wendy’s Tour Day – The Four Reservoir Tour which takes in Lindley Wood, Swinsty, Fewston & Thruscross reservoirs. Wendy booked the tour as a special 50th birthday surprise present for Helen, now that’s what we call a good friend. Helen shrieked with excitement and continued giggling for the whole length of the tour; nearly 2 hours.

Tour Review: Leaving Ilkley over the River Wharfe, past Denton Hall, you are immediately in the countryside, enjoying typical Yorkshire stone villages and the dramatic contrast between moorland and farmland. Clipping the picturesque market town of Otley, climbing up into the WashburnValley, you glimpse Lindley Wood Resevoir before experiencing the spectacular views across Swinsty and Fewston Reservoirs. The drive over the atmospheric Blubberhouse and Hazlewood Moors crossing the spectacular Thruscross Reservoir is a never to be forgotten experience. The road to Beamsley Beacon leads to the narrow road to Langbar, where there are gorgeous views on the scenic drive back to Ilkley.
