Sights and Bites and Sunsets

January has sped along and February beckons!

It has been a very busy time, but generally the weather has been kind and our tours have captured sunshine for, at least, part of the trip. The really interesting feedback we have been getting is that being on the trike is such an exhilarating experience, that any lively weather guests encounter just enhances their sense of adventure and that joy of feeling alive!

20140123_041150000_iOSOne of this week’s tours was a circular tour around Skipton. The tour on the trike was part of day of surprise birthday celebrations and , as the morning’s activity had overrun, the tour started a little later than had been intended. At this time of year it starts to get dark by 3.30pm,  so there was the danger it would be dusk before the trip ended. However, on Monday, there was the most amazing sunset, so stunning that Jason had to stop for a while, so our guests could soak up the amazing colours on the horizon. They would have missed all that if the tour had started on time. Serendipity indeed!

Later in the week we had a very positive meeting, with Gillian, at Country Harvest on Friday, last week. We chatted through the two new tours we are about to launch, that start and finish at Country Harvest on the A65 at Ingleton . One is a two hour tour and the other lasts two and a half hours. They will cover the beautiful, but relatively quiet dales in the west of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and include Bardondale, Birkdale and Garsdale. Each tour will include a meal at the restaurant, at Country Harvest, and there will also be special offers, for our guests, in the shopping area. Depending on what time of day the chosen tour takes place, guests can have breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. A tour, a meal AND retail therapy- a perfect day for anyone.

We also have a brand new initiative starting on Mothers Day, Sunday 30th March 2014.
On that day we launch our ‘Sight and Bites’ tour. This 45 minute tour leaves from the car park, at Country Harvest,  and cruises through the most amazing and stunning countryside to the Ribblehead20140123_193805000_iOS Viaduct and back.

The cost is £50 per tour, which is for two people. Bookings are already being taken, as many folk are thrilled at the prospect of having found that perfect, if quirky, alternative present for their Mums.

We are planning to run this tour for one Sunday per month for the Summer season. Other dates to be at Country Harvest,so far in the diary,  are Sunday 27th April and Sunday 1st June. Do come and see us if you are in the area or just passing through.

For Valentine’s Day we have a limited six tours available on Friday 14th, Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th. We are offering an hour tour, starting and finishing at The Devonshire Arms, Bolton Abbey, and a complimentary bunch of romantic flowers for you to present to your lady. The perfect Valentine surprise for £130 per tour for two people. Watch our website for more details yorkshiretriketours.co.uk

We have been featuring in the news again recently. Apparently there are ’14 Must Do Trips’ and ‘8 hottest things to do ‘ IN THE WORLD in 2014, and ‘Doing the Tour de France the easy way, with Yorkshire Trike Tours’  is one of them, according to The Independent, The Times and the New Zealand Herald. We totally agree!!
