Departing from the gorgeous Craiglands Hotel Cowpasture Road Ilkley, shadow the River Wharfe to Askwith, turning left and climbing to the top of Blubberhouse Moor. Cross the moor skimming the heather line before heading down to the A59 to climb past the Smokehouse to reach Stonehouses. Turning left head for the stunning Thruscross Reservoir, stopping for a few minutes to admire the views. Return back over Blubberhouse Moor before picking up the A59 again (this was used as part of the 2014 Tour de France route) following the route for 5 miles, descending to Bolton Abbey, Addingham and back to Ilkley.
